Dr. Kelly Gallego specializes in a wide variety of cosmetic plastic surgery procedures. His most commonly performed operations are breast augmentation, breast lift, tummy tuck/abdominoplasty, nose reshaping/rhinoplasty, liposuction and treatment of the aging face and eyes. In addition, he has a broad experience with non-surgical techniques such as Botox and dermal filler injections including Juvederm and Restylane.
Anesthesia options vary based on the size and length of the procedure. General anesthesia is a frequently employed method where patients go to sleep completely during the entire procedure. A breathing tube is utilized and patients have no recollection of the procedure. Some operations can be performed utilizing IV sedation without the need for a breathing tube. Finally, some short cases are performed with only local anesthesia in the office.
Often patients wish to combine two or more procedures at a time. The advantages to combining operations are a decrease in the total number of anesthetics, total cost and number of recovery periods. The disadvantages include a prolonged single recovery period, and a longer anesthesia time. Because the most important factor is obviously patient safety, some procedures must be separated.
